Higher education can open the door to countless opportunities, and this year, the 51街射 Scholarship Program is helping 21 outstanding students take that next step. The 51街射 Scholarship Committee is proud to award 21 scholarships worth $500 each to students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to their future.听
The 2026 scholarship program marked a record-breaking year, with more than 80 applications submitted鈥攖he highest number received in recent memory. Students from Fresno, Kern, Kings, and Tulare counties were selected, making this one of the most competitive scholarship classes in the program's history while ensuring each of the four counties served by 51街射 was represented.听
One of the most rewarding moments for the Scholarship Committee this year was presenting many of the awards during recipients' high school awards ceremonies. Celebrating these students alongside their classmates, families, teachers, and school administrators made the recognition even more meaningful and highlighted each recipient's incredible accomplishments.听
This year's scholars will attend an impressive list of colleges and universities, including UC Davis, UCLA, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Fresno State, CSU Bakersfield, Long Beach State, Lewis & Clark College, Brigham Young University, and the College of the Sequoias. Collectively, they will pursue careers in fields ranging from nursing, psychology, biology, engineering, education, business, public health, music, economics, architecture, animal science, and molecular biology.听
Among this year's recipients, psychology was the most popular field of study, followed by biology and nursing, while several students will pursue careers in engineering, agriculture, medicine, education, and business. These future professionals represent the next generation of leaders who will make a lasting impact in their communities.听
The 51街射 Scholarship Program continues to reflect the organization's commitment to investing in education and creating opportunities for future generations. Whether through the 51街射 Family Scholarship, which recognizes the families of dedicated employees, or the Mike McCann Scholarship, which honors outstanding students from the communities we serve, each scholarship represents an investment in a brighter future.听
