Although the new London Community Center is not yet fully operational, that didn't stop staff from keeping a favorite summer tradition alive. The annual Summer Night Lights Water Day was held at the Center's temporary location in the LCAPS building, where more than 100 community members gathered for an afternoon of fun.听
With water slides, water balloon games, and plenty of laughter, families enjoyed a day that brought a sense of normalcy and community while they await the opening of the new facility.听
Construction on the new London Community Center is in its final stages, with the parking lot and kitchen upgrades remaining before the building is ready to welcome the community. A grand opening celebration is planned once the final improvements are complete.听
The Summer Night Lights series continues throughout August with several family-friendly events. On August 6, the Center will host Back-to-School Night, where students will receive backpacks and other school essentials to help them prepare for the new school year. On August 8, free back-to-school haircuts will be offered to local youth. The series concludes on August 10 with Family Fun Day, featuring games, a family movie night, and additional free haircuts for children.
